My parents have worked in accounting for more than 30 years. I grew up watching the dining room become an office on Saturdays, and Sunday nights disappear into quarter-end work.
It was the background noise of any home with a business inside: one missing invoice, one supplier that would not send it, one Monday that never arrived on time.
As a kid I did not understand it. As an adult, I did.
Then I lived it myself.
I ended up in startups, at Startapps. Operations, finance, management. And I realized this was not just my parents or their generation.
It was everyone. Founders buried in PDFs, teams drained by monthly close, bookkeepers receiving invoices two months late. The same scene, company after company.
Chasing invoices was not just another task. It was the task nobody wanted.
The click.
If the problem was so repeated, so heavy, and so non-differentiating, it made no sense for it to keep depending on memory, patience, and Sundays.
Factu came from that simple idea: say what is missing and let the system come back, ask, search, validate, and notify until the invoice is where it belongs.
Mission
So we can focus on what makes us happy. On the important things. For everything else, Factu.
We did not build Factu to make closing look nicer. We built it to remove work that should never have depended on humans.
And I am not doing it alone.
